The Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center is more than a place to stay- it's a community built around faith, fellowship, and the beauty of God's creation.  Nestled along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, our 67-acre campus offers a peaceful blend of natural beauty and welcoming spaces for worship, reflection, recreation, and rest.

From our historic Chapel and rustic Camp Advenchur cabins to our Private Beach, Youth Center, and Dining Hall, every corner of our grounds invites you to experience refreshment of both body and spirit.

A short walk from the heart of our campus, you'll also find our Prayer Alter Area- a quiet spot surrounded by trees and nature, perfect for moments of solitude, devotion, and listening to God's still whispers into your heart.

At the Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center, we believe that where you stay should refresh both your body and your soul.  Whether you're hosting a retreat, joining a conference, or simply seeking a quiet place to rest, our campus offers comfortable accommodations and versatile meeting spaces designed to make every guest feel at home.

  • A Full-Service Dining hall for all your dietary needs.

  • A beautiful private beach perfect for a refreshing swim or to host a baptism along the beautiful shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.

The Tabernacle

​A Timeless Gathering for Worship, Community, and Celebration!

 

Our magnificent Tabernacle offers a vibrant and welcoming setting that serves as the centerpiece of our community, hosting main Sunday services at 10 AM, special concerts, and other large gathering events. With seating for up to 600 guests, this seasonal venue—ideally suited for the spring, summer, and fall months from May through October—exudes a majestic feeling and a strong sense of heritage that resonates with all who visit. As a pillar of our community, it fosters connection and celebration.

The Chapel

Our beautiful Chapel provides a peaceful and intimate setting that invites reflection, worship, and celebration.  With seating for up to 150 guests, it's the perfect place for heartfelt gatherings - whether you're hosting a retreat service, a wedding ceremony, or a time of prayer and teaching.

Administration Building
 

Main Offices, Guest Rooms, and Conference Space!

 

The Administration Building serves as the heart of campus operations and a welcoming hub for guests. It houses our main offices, where the daily work of ministry and hospitality takes place, along with comfortable spaces designed for meetings, fellowship, and overflow lodging.

 

Building Highlights

  • Home to the main administrative offices for the campground and retreat center

  • Includes three guest rooms used for overflow lodging when available

  • Features a comfortable lounge area for fellowship and informal gatherings

  • Offers conference rooms for planning sessions, small groups, or ministry meetings.

  • Guests staying in the building have access to the shower facilities.

 

Whether you're visiting for a meeting, assisting with a retreat, or staying overnight, the Administration Building provides a blend of hospitality and purpose-reflecting the warm, organized spirit of the Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center.​

Youth Center
 

 

Games, Fellowship, and Fun for All Ages!

Our Youth Center is the perfect place for laughter, connection, and friendly competition! Designed for both casual fun and small-group gatherings, it's a favorite spot for teens, families, and retreat guests alike.

 

What You'll Find Inside

Downstairs:

  • Carpet Ball, Ping-Pong, and Foosball for endless entertainment

  • comfortable lounge area - perfect for conversation, relaxation, or board games

  • Shelves stocked with a wide variety of games for all ages and interests

  • A welcoming space that encourages fellowship, friendship, and fun

Upstairs:

Upstairs, the Youth Center includes a large meeting room equipped with a 65" color TV, ideal for Bible studies, movie nights, youth lessons, or small-group discussions.  There is a white board available for developing all the brainstorming ideas related to your meetings and discussions.

​

Whether it's a rainy-day hangout or an evening of recreation, the Youth Center offers a space where faith and fun come together.

Dining Hall /Snack Shop (Lombard Center)
 

 

Meals, Fellowship, and a Warm Welcome!

​

  • Our Dining Hall serves as one of the most inviting gathering places on campus-a place where good food and great fellowship come together.  From morning coffee to shared meals, guests enjoy both the comfort of conversation and the nourishment of freshly prepared cuisine from our exceptional chef and his experienced staff.

 

Snack Shop & Fellowship Area

On a separate side of the Dining Hall, you'll find our cozy Snack Shop, a favorite stop for coffee, light refreshments, and informal gatherings.  It's the perfect place for small groups, prayer circles, or simply connecting with friends between sessions.

 

Full-Service Dining

The other side of the facility houses our full-service Dining Hall, complete with a commercial kitchen operated by our professional chef and culinary team

  • All retreat meals are prepared and served here with care and excellence

  • The kitchen is not available for guest use, ensuring that every meal is safely and professionally handled by our staff.

Whether you're enjoying a hearty breakfast before worship or sharing stories over dinner, the Dining Hall provides a warm, welcoming space for both body and spirit to be refreshed.

The Motel
 

Comfortable, Clean, and Convenient Accommodations!

Our motel offers simple, yet comfortable lodging designed to meet the needs of retreat guests and visitors alike.  Recently remodeled within the past two years, it provides a clean, welcoming place to rest and recharge during your stay.

 

About the Motel

  • 14 guest rooms in a two-story building

  • Laundry Facility located on the lower level of the building

  • Includes a washing machine (coin operated)

  • Lower-level features dorm-style rooms, perfect for groups or youth retreats

  • Upper level offers private and semi-private accommodations

  • Freshly renovated, with clean and cozy rooms maintained to high standards

  • Located conveniently near the heart of campus for easy access to events and worship spaces

 

Room Features

  • Each room includes its own private bathroom

  • Beds vary by room to suit singles, couples, or small families

  • Equipped with a microwave and small refrigerator for easy snacks or light meals

  • Includes a nightstand, a place to hang your garments, and a table with 2 chairs- for added convenience

  • Fully heated and air-conditioned for year-round comfort

While it is not a five-star hotel, our motel reflects the warmth, simplicity, and hospitality that define the Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center - a place where comfort meets community, and guests can truly relax in a peaceful setting.

Mission Cottage

Located just behind the Tabernacle, the Mission Cottage offers convenient and comfortable accommodations in the heart of campus. With eight air-conditioned and heated rooms, it provides a quiet retreat that's close to everything Alton Bay has to offer.

Minister's Retreat Building
 

 

Spacious, Comfortable, and Perfect for Group Lodging!

Our Minister's Retreat Building offers the comfort of home with the capacity of a group lodge-making it ideal for larger retreat groups, ministry teams, and extended family gatherings. Designed in a classic Cape-style home, this welcoming space combines charm, practicality, and togetherness.

 

Building Highlights

  • Sleeps up to 27 guests comfortably

  • Features motel-style and dorm-style rooms throughout

  • Three full bathrooms- one conveniently located on each floor

  • A warm, home-like environment with common areas and a piano for fellowship and rest

  • Perfect for retreat groups, mission teams, or guest speakers and their families

 

Non-Retreat Rates

 

  • $2,500 weekly rate

  • $425 per night

Camp Advenchur (Retreat use only)
 

 

Rustic Cabins, Group Retreats, and Outdoor Fun!

​

Step away from the busyness of everyday life and enjoy the great outdoors of New England at Camp Advenchur - the perfect place for youth retreats, school groups, rustic family camping, or church gatherings. Nestled up on the mountain in a private setting amongst the tall pines, this rustic camp is the epitome of the outdoors, with plenty of opportunity to seek God in the serene setting away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, but still close enough to offer creature comforts and experience a strong sense of community on the Retreat Center grounds below.

Camp Features

  • ​15 rustic cabins â€‹with bunk beds

  • Lodge and dining Hall (not available with individual family use, only with group) with program space

  • Separate bathhouse (with hot showers)

  • Volleyball courts, basketball courts, and disc golf course, plus a large activities field for all your outdoor games and activities

  • Campfire pit - ideal for evening worship and vespers, s'mores, or reflection and camp songs under the stars

Retreat Package Options

  • Standard Retreat Package - $95 per person, which includes 2 nights lodging in a camp cabin and 5 delicious meals served in our dining hall in our retreat center

  • Create Your Own Retreat - Design your experience! Perfect for groups that wish to customize their stay with extra nights, special programming, or alternate meal plans- possibly using the dining facility at the camp to produce your own meals! Family Fun, Involved Community, RV Life!

Tent Camping & Full-Service RV Sites

Experience the beauty of Alton Bay beneath the tall pines! Our peaceful campground offers both full-service RV sites and tent-camping spaces - perfect for families, friends, or individuals seeking rest and renewal by the lake.

​

Campground Highlights

  • Up to 16 spacious sites available for guests

  • Open seasonally from Memorial Day through Columbus Day (late May-mid-October)

  • Water, electric, and sewer hook-ups provided

  • Tent-camping sites available for a classic outdoor stay

  • ADA-accessible bathhouse built recently with hot showers

  • RV's must be 35 feet or shorter (no pull-through sites)

Non-Retreat Rates

RV Full-Service Sites:

  • $40 per night

  • $250 per week

  • $900 per month

Tent-Camping Sites:

  • $30 per night
